IT Solutions Architect (Virtual Server Infra)

Our client, a global US-based company, have recently acquired a division of a Japanese conglomerate and they have many technology projects as part of the efforts to separate and integrate the business into their global operations and technology standards. 

This has created a new opportunity for an IT Solutions Architect to:
  • Function as a subject matter expert and internal consultant to IT management.
  • Interface with the business units, technology vendors and service providers and internal technology leads (including desktop, network, applications, server and storage), providing technical leadership for complex projects; ensuring the success of enterprise-level technology infrastructure solution design and implementation activities.
  • Produce and review solutions ensuring standards are enforced, industry best practices are implemented, documentation is accurate, and sufficient for deployment, operations, and engineering teams.
 
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Professional level proficiency in both Japanese and English
  • More than 5 years of technology infrastructure experience, with a technical background in Enterprise level Systems and Storage engineering.
  • Technical expertise and experience covering the majority of the following (listed in order of preference):
    • Virtualization for Server, specifically VMware ESXi 6.5
    • Data Storage Systems (DataDomain, Isilon) and Storage concepts such as IOPS, throughput, RAID technologies, zoning, and LUN masking
    • Windows and/or Unix operating systems (Linux)
    • Networking - Cisco switching and practical knowledge of networking concepts (subnetting, trunking, VLANs, FW Policies, NAT, etc)
    • Fibre channel, L2 10g
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into Technical Solutions.
  • Experienced managing external partners and vendor relationships
  • Creative and practical problem-solving and issue resolution skills
  • Ability to anticipate and design around potential problems that could impact user experience, scale-ability, security and reliability
  • Ability to explain equipment build procedures and operation procedures to team members, and support improve their skills.

Work Location:
The Consultant will work on-site at the client's office in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
