Challenging Network Engineer role to work with a multinational Pharmaceutical corporation, to provide professional IT services, working closely with local and global teams using both Japanese and English.
We are looking to hire an experienced Network Engineer with advanced technical skill for Data Networks; a networking professional who is confident, well organized and who communicates well with all technology and business disciplines.
You will support operations and network change projects for an enterprise environment comprising Enterprise-class Cisco networking equipment (approx. 700 Cisco devices) in total of 70 offices/branches in all over Japan, and responsible for troubleshooting, upgrade, install and all related duties.
  •         Working as part of a local Network team, with support from global network operations, the main focus of the role will be supporting the day-to-day network support services, troubleshooting network performance issues, handling incidents, planning and executing operational network change activities.
  •        Responsible for global and local projects coordination: Work closely with German HQ, Spain and Singapore IT teams and local Infrastructure department for network related activities, such as vendor control (quote, schedule, user coordination of the sites), WAN circuit management(open/close), equipment management, performing connection/application tests after implementation, user training, and all other necessary duties.
  •         After hours and weekend work for planned local/global project work and unexpected issues, including business trips will be required.
As a member of L2 incident management, responsible for troubleshoot, upgrade, install hardware/software of routers, switches, proxy server, riverbed, and all other related devices and tools.
  •        Work closely with server, application, infra and printer team to fulfill their request from the network point of view.
  •         Process network related issues and requests via SAP based ticketing system; configuring devices as necessary.
  •         Inventory of all Japanese devices on SAP based system and data files.
  •        Responsible for DHCP server management of all Japanese sites, running on Windows 2010 server.
Opportunities to  learn and support Unified Communications Systems and Conferencing systems.
  •        DHCP server management for Japan sites, running on Windows 2010 server.
  •        Local support for Cisco IP phone system of Japan, assisting voice team in Singapore.
  •        Skype for Business support for issues, requests and questions from users. Video conference system support. Support for video conference systems including  Polycom, MS Surface Hub, Crestron.
  •        Support town hall meetings.
  • 4+ years networking experience – managing network operations and projects.
  • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Experience with enterprise-class Cisco networking equipment
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure technologies such as computing (networking, telephony, security, server, storage, desktop, etc.).  
'Nice to Have’ skills/experiences:
  • Experiences supporting and maintaining Firewalls (e.g. ASA, Palo Alto), Accelerator/Optimizers (e.g. Riverbed), Proxies, Load Balancing, etc.
  • Cisco Nexus knowledge/experience
