IT Security Consultant / Cyber Security Technical Specialist

  • Minato-ku, Tokyo

Join EIRE's Information Security and Managed Services practice in Tokyo as an IT Security Consultant / Cyber Security Technical Specialist, helping clients strengthen their cyber security posture and operational resilience.
You'll blend consulting, technical assessments, security operations support, and infrastructure hardening — working directly with client stakeholders to identify risk, close gaps, and implement practical security controls across networks, cloud, and endpoints.

If you've built a solid foundation in infrastructure, networking, systems administration, and/or end-user computing and want to specialize in cyber security consulting, this is your next step.

What You'll Do
  • Consulting & Assessments — Run security health checks and vulnerability assessments, coordinate pen testing, and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Security Operations — Support SOC monitoring, investigate alerts and incidents, and help refine incident response procedures.
  • Infrastructure Hardening — Secure networks, Azure/M365 environments, Windows endpoints, and identity platforms (Entra ID).
  • Managed Services — Collaborate with infrastructure and support engineers, provide security input on change management, and deliver clear, professionally written client reports.
  • Client Engagement — Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders; travel to client sites across Tokyo as needed.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in IT infrastructure, sysadmin, networking, end-user computing, IT ops, or cyber security.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Windows, Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure, Purview, Intune, and IAM/incident response fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 and risk management concepts.
  • Bilingual Japanese-English strongly preferred — you'll work with local stakeholders and multinational clients alike.
  • Professional client-facing communication skills, including strong written documentation and report-writing.
  • Nice to Haves: Hands-on vulnerability management/pen testing, SOC experience, Microsoft security solutions, cloud security technologies, and/or certs like Security+, CISSP, CEH, SSCP, GIAC, or Azure Security Engineer Associate.
