EIRE Systems is looking to hire a Technical Support Engineer to provide VoIP / IP Phone and Telephony related Network Infra support for our Financial Industry clients in Tokyo.

You'll have the opportunity to work in a team to maintain, support and operate the voice network infrastructure for Japan-based operations.
 
In this role you will assist with day-to-day operations for the telephony systems, dealerboards/ trader phones and voice recording systems (IP PBX, VoIP, cabling, hardware and systems infra).
 
Planning, coordinating and executing change requests, performing technical troubleshooting, and keeping up with new technologies and corporate standards.
 

Voice Systems technical/operational support will include but not limited to the following:
  • Voice network monitoring and troubleshooting (in communication with internal teams and network/systems vendors)
  • Voice desktop move/add/change
  • Voice systems related software support
  • Prepare and execute configuration changes, break-fix and testing
  • Prepare and maintain related documents: inventory, diagrams, test plans, project timelines
  • Work as part of a team to plan and execute voice networking operational projects - i.e system expansion, upgrades and enhancements.
 
The successful completion of these duties will require the technician to work well with multiple internal and external business units and technical services providers, serving as a client-side interface for all related matters.
 
The Candidate should be comfortable working without constant supervision and be able to identify and prioritize tasks.

As it is a technology infrastructure support role, applicants should expect that some weekend work for troubleshooting and executing system changes will be necessary.
 


Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Fluent or Business level of Japanese & English (Speaking / Reading / Writing) 
  • Fundamental knowledge of enterprise desktop and/or network technologies.
  • Basic networking knowledge such as subnet masking, default gateways, IP address classes, etc.
  • MS Excel use for analysis and reporting (e.g. ability to efficiently retrieve/match data using vlookup function) 
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn technical skills for IP-based telephone systems and network troubleshooting.
  • Relevant telecoms cabling infrastructure and hardware setups experiences
  • VoIP, PBX, SIP technical knowledge is a plus (but not a pre-requisite)
  • Advantage (but not a must) to be experienced supporting end users in the financial industry.
