The Business Applications Specialist will lead the introduction of new systems and technology solutions for automating the business processes of a mid-sized (and growing) professional services company.
In this role you will be entrusted with driving the complete lifecycle of project initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term digital transformation strategy.
You'll be engaged at each step from analysis and documentation of processes and requirements; selecting, testing and proposal of technology solutions; implementation planning and execution; user training and; reviews for continuous improvement.
Example project initiatives:
Implementing improvements to company intranet (SharePoint) and Human Resource Information Systems, enabling better access to employment related information for all personnel.
Production of data depository (using SharePoint) for standardized documentation templates and assisting in template standardization & automation
Selection, planning and deployment of HR Management tools such as an online Timesheet / Time Management System.
Selection, planning and deployment of SaaS-based IT Service Management tools such as ticketing systems, task management and, incident and change management tools.
Selection, planning and deployment of cloud-based systems for quotation management, invoice creation and tracking, and inventory tracking database systems
Identify, plan and execute improvements to Customer Relationship Management and Customer data retention systems (Salesforce)
Research and propose integrated web portal solutions for automating Sales and Client Requests (i.e. a Managed Service Portal)
Communicate closely with senior management and key business users to learn and understand current business processes.
Identify and recommend software applications and cloud-based technology solutions, targeted at improved workflow efficiencies, ensuring proposed solutions are aligned to company goals and business use cases.
Develops criteria to evaluate 3rd party vendors and applications
Prepare detailed plans and accurate estimates for the rollout, testing and commissioning of new applications and/or services.
Manage all aspects of implementation planning, coordination and execution.
Be technically hands-on in supporting all phases of planning and implementation, user training and system administration and support, post deployment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Technical background in Business Software/Systems Integration or Systems / Database Administration.
Familiarity with a variety of SaaS-based or client/server-based business applications products and the underlying technologies.
Skilled in understanding, documenting and analyzing business processes and workflows.
Fluent in English; able to communicate well with other professionals at both a business functional and technical level and adjust as appropriate.
