Acting as a lead and escalation point for the Balance Sheets systems developed in house -- multiple OS environment, Sybase databases, and internal and external connectivity to End user GUIs which are a mixture of C++/Java clients and web based sessions.

Work / Inter-face with multiple Finance Development teams and Finance Controllers based in throughout Asia. Work across large, globally distributed technology teams, providing technical and domain expertise, for effective delivery of production management services for Balance Sheets / Financial Reporting Systems.
  • Scripting and tool development to help perform data analysis and to standardize request resolution steps
  • Aid trouble shooting in multiple OS environment and Sybase databases
  • Managing and chairing outage conversations with senior key decision makers (business and wider IT teams) to ensure issues are resolved within defined SLAs.
  • Problem management: to reduce risks of failure; to seek the cause of inefficiencies; to enable a metrics-driven approach to prioritizing work and; to control the cost and complexity of support
  • Leverage the available tools within team to ensure that incidents are correctly managed for a timely resolution, and with a focus on strategic solutions to new issues and documenting associated fixes
  • Provide detailed analysis of issues / governance reports to senior management.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Finance division's Critical Business Paths for daily and monthly Financial Reporting.

Technical Background
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science and/or Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux/Unix and Windows Server Operating Systems 
    • Strong troubleshooting skills with Unix and Windows platform
    • Hands on skills with day to day command like awk, sed, find, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in Perl and shell scripting
    • Experience with XML
    • Strong knowledge of ETL systems 
    • Exposure to Messaging Technologies (preferably IBM MQ) and MQ based systems
    • Experience with batch-process & job scheduling tools (Autosys)
  • 5+ years of experience with at least one major RDBMS product. Preferably with Sybase.
    • Hands on DBA with strong experience of Performance & Tuning
    • Debugging of Stored Procedure
  • Knowledgeable on system monitoring and alerting tools

Professional Experience and Skills:
  • Able to demonstrate professional ownership of Incidents and Problem Management 
  • Experience with working and managing software on a large distributed environment
  • Experience of end user support
  • Developing and documenting support process 
  • Process improvement and support tools development
  • Strong problem solving skills and an ability to learn rapidly on-the-job
  • Self-motivated, ability to identify and resolve issues with minimal oversight 
  • Works well in a dynamic, fast paced environment

  • Strong organization and coordination skills
Language / Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to effectively communicate with technical / non-technical personnel including senior management.
